Encrypt and Decrypt Text
Protect text with a passphrase. Nothing is sent to a server.
Encrypt text with a passphrase
This tool uses AES-256-GCM, a modern encryption standard, with a key made from your passphrase using PBKDF2. The result is a single line of text you can store or send. Only someone with the passphrase can decrypt it.
Questions
Is the passphrase sent anywhere?
No. Encryption and decryption run in your browser, using the built-in Web Crypto features.
What if I forget the passphrase?
The text can't be recovered. There is no reset, because nothing is stored.
Is this suitable for passwords or sensitive records?
It's a good way to protect ordinary notes and messages. For high-stakes data, use a dedicated password manager or a tool reviewed for your specific needs.
