How to make a sprite sheet from a video
- Drop a video into the box, or click to choose one.
- Set the Start and Length for the part you want to capture.
- Choose how many frames to take. The frames are spaced evenly through the length.
- Pick a frame width and press Make sprite sheet and download. You get one PNG with the frames in a grid, read left to right, top to bottom.
What it's for
- Storyboarding a clip, so you can see the main moments at a glance.
- Making animation sprites for a game or a web page.
- Turning a short movement into frames you can rearrange or convert with the GIF tools.
Tips
- Use 8 to 16 frames for a quick overview. Larger grids get big quickly.
- Keep frame widths small for previews, and larger for detailed work.
